College and career support
What is student executive functioning coaching?
Student executive functioning coaching is educational support that helps students develop skills related to organization, planning, time management, task initiation, prioritization, follow-through, communication, and self-advocacy. Coaching is individualized and does not replace medical, psychological, therapeutic, academic, or school-based services.
Can SEACS help with stress management and test anxiety?
Yes. SEACS can provide educational coaching focused on preparation routines, organization, relaxation techniques, breathing strategies, grounding exercises, positive self-talk, and practical approaches to managing academic stress and test anxiety. This support does not replace counseling, psychotherapy, medical care, or other clinical services.
Can SEACS help with college accommodations?
Yes. SEACS can help students and families understand the transition from K–12 services to college accommodations, prepare questions for disability-services offices, organize documentation, and develop self-advocacy strategies. Final decisions are made by the college.
Can SEACS help students find colleges, trade schools, or certification programs?
Yes. SEACS can help students explore colleges, trade schools, certification programs, technical schools, apprenticeships, and other postsecondary options based on academic, personal, financial, accessibility, career-related, and program-specific factors.
Does an IEP automatically transfer to college?
No. An IEP does not automatically transfer to college. Students generally must contact the college’s disability-services office and follow the institution’s process for requesting accommodations.
