Dr. Tammy Cyra may be the best advocate in education! She’s kind, gracious & so very dedicated to our kiddos. I wouldn’t go into an ARD meeting without her.

I cannot express enough how grateful we are for the outstanding support provided by Tammy Cyra. From the moment we reached out to her, she has been a beacon of hope and an incredible ally in navigating the complexities of the educational system. Tammy is remarkably swift in resolving issues with schools, and her proactive approach ensures that no problem lingers unresolved.

Dr Cyra is a blessing in disguise. We relocated to Texas and our biggest concern in relocation was to find a best school for my son and she personally spent so much effort to find him the best school. She personally picked schools, arranged meetings and helped us relocate near the school where our son could get the best services. We couldn’t thank her enough and she continues to follow up and help us in every possible way and we will continue to get her support.

Tammy is an absolute wonderful advocate for SPED kids. She holds schools accountable for their educational responsibilities for students. She will question their decisions, and request what’s in the best interest of the individual child in question. She helped me with my child and guide me in how to handle the school/district and supported me in every ARD. The district/teachers/principal were less likely to try to bully me with her attending the ARDs as our advocate. She listened to what I wanted and was there for me and helped me fight for my child.

Dr. Cyra is an absolute shark when it comes to advocating for our children. She has represented us more than once with very successful outcomes. She is very professional, knowledgeable, and is great at communicating throughout the whole process. She is patient and will answer any questions or concerns you might have throughout the process. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the services Dr. Cyra has provided to me and my family, I will, without a doubt, recommend to my friends and family who are in need of a wonderful advocate!

So thankful for Dr. Tammy Cyra and all of her help. It felt like we were never going to make it through my sons 5th grade year, I think he was suspended for his behaviors more than he was actually at school, and the school wouldn’t accept any of his diagnosis from his doctors. Dr. Cyra stepped in, and guided me through every step of the process, I wouldn’t have made it through without her on my side and a part of our team!

Wonderful! I would suggest using her BEFORE you need her! She is super helpful in navigating the parts of the IEP and making sure all the things you discuss are actually in the IEP. She has been a lifesaver recently when I’ve had real problems with the school and has helped me navigate the process to raise complaints to get the schools to change!

Tammy is incredibly knowledgeable in advocating for special needs kids within public schools. She is also very compassionate and professional and truly advocates for what’s best for the child; something the local public schools usually don’t care about. I’d recommend Tammy to anyone who has a child with special needs who is not receiving a fair education.

Dr Tammy is really a God sent. She is very knowledgeable and helped me so much get the resources and help needed for my son. Navigating the special ed system is not easy with not knowing what to do or ask but with her help and assistance I am better able to advocate for my son. Hire her, you will not be disappointed.
Thank you for everything.

My son would never have graduated without Tammy’s help, and that’s the difference between hiring an advocate and assuming the school system has your child’s best interests in mind. We moved from California to Texas in the middle of his 8th-grade year, and it became clear that Texas doesn’t manage the IEP process as well as California. Our son completed 8th grade without his IEP transfer being finalized at the new school. By the end of the year, there was no assessment, and no goals had been set for his freshman year of high school. We were at a loss, unsure of who to turn to, and after being ignored by both the middle and high school, as well as the district, I was at my breaking point. Desperate, I found Tammy through a random Google search. I was in tears when she answered my call, probably sounding like a frantic mother, but she immediately understood and assured me that she had our back. And she truly did. From start to finish, Tammy was there for us. She attended every IEP meeting and handled every issue that arose. Tammy ensured that my son received all the services he was legally entitled to and that the goals and action plan in his IEP were appropriate and compliant. Tammy’s extensive knowledge and expertise in advocating for special needs children are evident in everything she does, and her dedication goes far beyond what is required in her profession. Even now that my son is out of the Texas school system, she continues to check in on him. Tammy genuinely cares about the children and families she represents. If your child is struggling and you feel stuck with their school, I highly recommend contacting Tammy; your child’s development, education, self-esteem, and future may depend on it.
I cannot thank you enough Tammy. You really did make all the difference in the world.

My daughter was enrolled in one of the best schools in the state. We relocated so she could have more access to doctors. Prior to moving, she was in the homebound program due to her medical condition not allowing her to physically attend school. When we enrolled in her new school we were given so much incorrect information and she had an IEP in place that seemed very overlooked. They told us the only way a child could be homebound at their school was if they couldn’t get out of the bed. My daughter was forced to attend school where she became ill daily, and she missed more days that caused her to have ridiculous makeup sessions.
I became desperate as I knew the information and rules the school were claiming to be right, were absolutely wrong for my daughter and her situation. I contacted the school board, searched the internet and came across Dr. Cyra’s website. I was impressed with the information it provided and even more impressed when I called her.
I was greeted with a warm voice, that had compassion for the work she was doing to help children and parents with the help that unfortunately the schools don’t provide. No matter the situation, she was not going to turn us away.
We immediately started services with her and she began to heavily advocate for my daughter. My husband and I only wished we would have known from day one that we would need an advocate and hired Dr. Cyra when we first moved here and she started school.
Dr. Cyra provided a wealth of information to us about the services our daughter was afforded because of her medical condition and IEP that was already in place. When we had our ARDS meeting with the school representatives and Dr. Cyra, we didn’t have to say one word. It was unreal to see how frustrated the staff became because we had an Advocate that corrected them on their practices that were hurting our daughter.
I don’t want to cause shame on the educators as they seemed to not know the correct information and if not, shame on the school district as they should be equipped to handle these situations. We were able to meet several times during the school year and our daughter was able to go homebound and complete her school and take care of her health issues.
Dr. Cyra also gave us info that the school did not. She made us aware of the programs outside of the school that is actually connected with the school that helped our daughter beyond high school.
Because of Dr. Cyra, we were able to enroll our daughter into the workforce commission and they help her TREMENDOUSLY with anything she decides to do post high school.
No one at her high school told us anything about it, and even though it was last minute, we were able to get her in!!
Dr. Cyra is not just our daughter’s advocate, she is family. She followed us to college that our daughter attends and she made sure her accommodations were in place. And to top it off, she made sure they pay for our daughter’s tuition as that is what they help do.
We didn’t have access to any of this information and if I would have never came across Dr. Cyra’s website, I’m not sure where we would be. I was searching for a private school so she could finish high school, but we found Dr. Cyra instead!!!
We are not only thankful but grateful to have her. Disability paints so many different pictures! We’re just glad we found Dr. Cyra to help us make sure our daughter’s needs were respected and met!!!!!
